📰 Paper releases “Halftone Dots”

This week, Paper released "Halftone Dots," a new shader that transforms any image into vintage halftone patterns reminiscent of classic print media.
The shader gives designers instant access to the dot-based aesthetic of vintage newspapers, comic books, and screen printing, allowing them to create everything from retro stamps to abstract art without needing separate image editing software.
Paper is an emerging design platform that focuses on bringing advanced creative tools and effects into a single web-based canvas, competing in the space alongside Figma and Canva.

With "Halftone Dots," you can now:
Drop in any image: Upload photos or graphics to instantly convert them into halftone patterns with adjustable dot sizes and spacing.
Choose from multiple presets: Select from options like "Round and Square" for abstract effects, "LED screen" for digital aesthetics, or "Mosaic" for varied patterns.
Customize with precision: Adjust grid type (Hex or Square), dot style (Classic, Gooey, Holes, or Soft), and fine-tune parameters including size, radius, contrast, scale, grain, and overlay effects.
Stack and blend layers: Combine multiple halftone layers with different blending modes to create complex, layered compositions.
Toggle original colors: Switch between classic black-and-white halftone or maintain the original image colors for modern interpretations of the vintage effect.
The shader is available now to all Paper users through the platform's playground interface.
Here are some cool examples of what you can create with the new shader 👇

ANIMATION
🧠 Jitter releases “AI Brainstorm”

This week, Jitter released "AI Brainstorm (beta)," a new feature that turns static designs into animated drafts in seconds, helping designers quickly explore multiple animation directions without manually key-framing each option.
The feature handles the initial exploration phase while designers maintain full creative control over the final result.
Jitter is a web-based motion design tool that lets designers create animations without needing After Effects expertise.

With "AI Brainstorm," you can now:
Generate animation ideas instantly: Import your static design and get multiple motion concepts to explore different creative directions without starting from scratch.
Choose from five moods: Select a style (playful, bold, soft, elegant, or cinematic) to guide the AI's animation suggestions and match your project's tone.
Customize fully editable drafts: Every AI-generated animation comes as a fully editable Jitter file, letting you refine timing, adjust easing curves, and tweak movements to make them your own.
To use the feature, open any Jitter file and click the ✨ icon in the top right corner of your artboard. The AI assistant "Oli" generates your animation in a few seconds.
Jitter emphasized that "AI Brainstorm" is designed as a creative starting point, not a replacement for designers.
