🖼 MagicPath releases “Images”

This week, MagicPath released "Images on Canvas," a new feature that allows users to drag images directly into projects for inspiration or as visual references when creating components.
This update bridges the gap between visual inspiration and code generation, enabling designers to seamlessly transform reference images into functional components without switching between multiple tools.

Creating a landing page based off of two image references
With Images on Canvas, you can now:
Drag and drop images: Simply drag any image from your computer onto the canvas for quick access and reference.
Turn images into code: Select an image and click "Add to chat" to use it as a reference for generating new components directly from the visual.
Mix multiple images: Select multiple images and click "Mix" to combine them and explore new design styles and variations.
Keep visual references: Maintain inspiration images alongside your components for easy reference while designing.
Mention images in chat: Use the @ mention system to reference images from your canvas directly in conversations with the AI.
According to Pietro Schirano, MagicPath CEO, this feature is part of their vision to build "the interface for working with code + design on a single canvas.”

ANIMATION
🎨 Procreate releases “Procreate Dreams 2”

This week, Procreate released "Dreams 2.0," a free update to its iPad animation app that adds some of the most-requested features since the original launch in 2023.
This update represents a major overhaul of the animation experience, introducing essential tools like select and transform alongside a completely redesigned timeline and flipbook workflow.

The all-new Flipbook
With Dreams 2.0, you can now:
Redesigned timeline with 3 modes: Work in dedicated spaces for different animation tasks: Compose for positioning content without disrupting keyframes, Perform for recording motion through touch, and Keyframe for creating and editing keyframes.
All-new Flipbook experience: Build frame-by-frame animations with multiple tracks that can be reordered, hidden, or used as masks. Play animations, hold frames, and make adjustments without leaving Flipbook.
Select and transform drawings: Use the new lasso tool to select, cut, warp, and transform your drawings in both Draw & Paint and Flipbook — one of the most-requested features since launch.
100+ animation brushes: Access a new brush library handcrafted by Kyle T. Webster, including rough sketchy brushes for energetic expression, painterly textures for backgrounds, and line work brushes for detailed animation.
Advanced export options: Export transparent videos and GIFs with customizable settings including color palettes, dithering effects, and speedy previews.
Improved painting consistency: Experience more pixel-perfect brush strokes with a focused painting workflow and enhanced canvas controls (up to 8-16K depending on iPad model).
Additional updates include luminance masks, customizable keyboard shortcuts, multi-select for bulk edits, duration handles, and Continuous Fill in Color Drop for faster coloring.

100+ new animation brushes
Existing users will need to upgrade their work to version 2 by tapping on files, which should be a seamless process.
Procreate Dreams is available exclusively for iPad through the App Store. The app costs $12.99 USD as a one-time purchase with no subscription required.

✨ Freepik releases “Skin Enhancer”

This week, Freepik released "Skin Enhancer," a new upscaler by Magnific designed to eliminate the artificial "plastic skin" look common in AI-generated images while preserving fine details and natural textures.
Unlike traditional upscalers, Skin Enhancer processes the entire image (not just skin) cleaning digital noise while delivering natural tones and smooth texture.
Magnific is an AI image upscaler and enhancer owned by Freepik. The company was acquired in May 2024 and operates as part of Freepik's AI suite.

With Skin Enhancer, there are three modes:
Faithful: Preserves composition, tones, and overall vibe with minimal alterations. Best for adding a final polish to images, removing obvious AI texture artifacts, or refining high-resolution images that just need subtle enhancement.
Creative: The most experimental option that can shift angles, add color grading, and introduce unexpected details.
Flexible: Balances faithfulness and creativity with consistent, reliable results. Includes presets like "Improve light," "Transform to real," and "Enhance skin" for quick adjustments.
Additional controls include Sharpen (enhances facial features and fine details), Smart Grain (adds natural film-like texture), and adjustable strength sliders for precise customization.
The feature is available on Magnific and is rolling out to Freepik users.
