🎨 Figma releases “Copy Design”

Copying a design from Figma Make
This week, Figma released "Copy Design," a highly requested feature that allows users to copy any AI-generated design from Figma Make previews directly into the design canvas as fully editable layers.
This feature was made possible through Figma's acquisition of div.RIOTS technology, the team behind popular plugins like html.to.design, code.to.design, and story.to.design.
This purchase brings their proven "HTML-to-Figma engine" directly into the native Figma experience.
Figma Make is an AI-powered design tool that generates high-fidelity prototypes and layouts from simple text prompts.

Editing a design that was copied from Figma Make
With Copy Design, you can now:
Convert AI to layers: Transform any Figma Make preview into editable design layers that you can modify, annotate, and share with your team.
Skip the export process: No more screenshots or switching between tools — generated designs become native Figma objects instantly.
Iterate seamlessly: Use AI-generated layouts as building blocks, then refine typography, adjust spacing, or swap components using familiar Figma tools.
Collaborate naturally: Share editable designs with stakeholders instead of static previews, enabling real-time feedback and changes.
The feature represents the first step toward Figma's vision of making AI outputs "fully editable, contextual, and native" within the design workflow, turning prompts into production-ready starting points rather than just inspiration.
“Copy Design” is available to users with edit access on teams that have AI features enabled, which requires paid Figma plans.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
🔥 Adobe releases “Firefly Boards”

This week, Adobe released "Firefly Boards" globally, moving beyond its beta phase to become an AI-first ideation space that consolidates multiple industry-leading AI models into one collaborative platform.
Firefly Boards transforms the traditionally messy creative brainstorming process into a unified workspace where teams can explore, iterate, and align on ideas in real-time without juggling disparate tools or lengthy feedback loops.
Firefly Boards is free to access with any Adobe account and includes unlimited canvases.
However, you'll need generative credits to use AI features like image generation, and a Creative Cloud subscription for premium partner models.

With Firefly Boards, you can now:
Generate styled concepts instantly: Use new Presets like Product and Character, Virtual Try On, and Electric Party to create images in specific styles with a single click.
Edit text within visuals: Swap or update text directly in generated images using Generative Text Edit (beta).
Reverse-engineer inspiration: Upload any image and use Describe Image to automatically generate detailed, editable prompts based on visual analysis.
Access multiple AI models: Work with Adobe Firefly alongside partner models from Runway, Moonvalley, Luma AI, Google Veo 3, Pika, and Black Forest Labs in one interface.
Create multi-modal workflows: Generate storyboards with Runway Aleph using reference videos, then refine frames with conversational edits for seamless video-to-image workflows.
Collaborate in real-time: Share unlimited canvases with team members for instant feedback and iteration, with direct integration to Photoshop and Adobe Express.
Adobe has also introduced new Firefly Standard, Pro, and Premium subscription plans that include Photoshop (web and mobile) and Adobe Express Premium, making the platform more accessible to creators at different levels.
Partner models are third-party AI tools that Adobe has integrated directly into Firefly, giving you access to specialized capabilities from different companies without switching platforms.
Each model has unique strengths — like Runway for video generation or Google's models for image creation.

MOTION DESIGN
🎬 LottieLab releases “Burp”

This week, LottieLab released "Burp," an AI-powered motion editor that generates animated content for ads, social media, UI design, and websites through simple text prompts.
The tool builds on LottieLab's previous success with "Magic Animator," their AI animation generator for Figma, suggesting Burp may expand this concept into a standalone platform for broader motion design needs.

From the demo footage, Burp appears to let users:
Generate social media ads: Create animated posts with prompts like "make a social post style ad for my healthtech platform" or "animated poster with playful icons for a wellness app."
Design e-commerce banners: Build promotional content such as "banner set for my Shopify store's sneaker launch, bold red theme."
Create carousel content: Generate multi-slide animations with descriptions like "make a carousel of release, sleek minimal."
Import existing designs: Bring in your current static designs and add AI-generated motion to them.
Chat-based editing: Use a conversational interface to refine and iterate on your animations in real-time.
This positions LottieLab as a potential competitor to traditional motion design tools, making animation accessible to designers who may not have extensive After Effects or motion graphics experience.
The tool is currently in waitlist mode, with LottieLab offering fast-track access and unlimited testing credits to early users.
